Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016 Licensing Update

With the upcoming launch of Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016, for servers the licensing of Datacenter and Standard Edition will transition from processor licensing to physical core licensing. However, for UC customers, per processor licenses are also available for this 17/18 enrollment term only.  Whichever works out better (more economical) for you will depend on your actual server configurations.  For client computers, per user or per device based Windows Server CALs and System Center CMLs will continue to be a requirement.

SPSS Now Renewing for the 1/1/17 to 12/31/17 Agreement Term

Attention SPSS users; UCLA has joined the UC wide IBM ESSO agreement that now includes SPSS.  Because of this change, our licensing term has shifted to follow the calendar year rather than the fiscal year.  If you currently license SPSS from Software Central, please check your email for the renewal notices and directions on how to complete your renewal.  Renewing in a timely manner will assure that your license continues to run without interruption.

Important OS X Security Updates Released 9-1-16

The UCLA Information Security Office is providing a reminder that on September 1, 2016, Apple released a set of security updates for Safari and OS X designed to patch vulnerabilities that allow attackers to perform memory disclosure and code execution on vulnerable OS X hosts. The following operating system versions are affected by these vulnerabilities, and the recommended action for each is included:

SPSS Licenses Now Renewing

Software Central is currently renewing SPSS licenses that expire on 6/30/16. This renewal only applies to SPSS licenses that will expire on 6/30/16.  This renewal is NOT for any SPSS licenses purchased after 1/1/2016.  All licenses purchased after 1/1/2016 are good through 12/31/16.
